Hourloom

Privacy Policy

Effective October 24, 2026 · Last updated October 27, 2026

The short version

Hourloom doesn't collect any personal data. Your hours, rates and pay figures stay on your devices and in your own private iCloud account. There are no ads, no analytics, no accounts and no tracking.

Hourloom ("the app", "we", "our") records your working hours and estimates your pay. That is personal financial information, so this policy explains exactly what data Hourloom handles and how.

1. Data we collect

None. Hourloom does not collect, transmit to us, sell, share or rent any personal information. We don't operate any servers, the app makes no network requests of its own, and we have no way to see what you store in it. The app contains no third-party SDKs.

2. Where your data is stored

Everything you enter, including work types, rates, sessions, notes, patterns, pay rules and day records, is stored:

3. Apple Watch, widgets and Live Activities

The Apple Watch app receives a small summary (your work type names, what is running and today's logged time) from your iPhone directly, over the connection between your own devices, and sends your taps back the same way. Widgets, the Live Activity and Control Center controls read a summary kept in storage shared between the app and its extensions on your device. None of this is sent to us or anyone else.

4. Notifications

Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally by iOS on your device. We don't operate a notification server and never see when or whether notifications are delivered. You can turn reminders off in Hourloom's Setup or in the iOS Settings app.

5. Typing and speaking entries

The "Type it" feature reads the text you type or dictate. Common phrases are read by code inside the app. For free-form text, and only on devices that support it, the app may use Apple's on-device language model, which runs on your device. The text is not sent to us, and what is read is shown to you for confirmation before anything is saved. Dictation with the keyboard's microphone is provided and handled by Apple under your device's dictation settings.

"Suggested time" is worked out on your device from your own logged days and patterns. Nothing about it leaves your device, it is never counted until you add it, and you can turn it off in Setup.

6. Exports and backups

Excel, CSV and backup files are created on your device only when you ask for them, and go wherever you choose to share them. We never receive them. Anyone you give a file to can read it, so share it with care.

7. Purchases

Hourloom's unlock is a one-time purchase made through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details. The app checks your purchase with Apple's StoreKit on your device. The 30-day free trial starts when you tap Start free trial. That one date is saved in your keychain on your device, and in iCloud Keychain if you have it turned on, so reinstalling Hourloom or using it on another of your devices doesn't restart the trial. It is only a date: it holds no name, account or identifier, and we never receive it.

8. Deleting your data

Setup › Delete all data permanently removes everything Hourloom stores on your device, and, if iCloud sync is on, from your private iCloud copy and your other devices. Because we hold no copy of your data, we can't restore it afterwards. Make a backup first if you may want it back.

9. Children

Hourloom collects no data from anyone, including children.

10. Pay figures are estimates

Pay figures in Hourloom are estimates of gross pay from the rules you set. They are not payroll, tax or legal advice.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date. If a change affects how your data is handled, we'll say so in the app's update notes.

12. Contact
